With so much variety within Napa Valley vineyards, it takes a lot of experience to know just where to look for the ideal grapes for Oberon wines. Our winemaker, Napa Valley native TonyColtrin, brings more than 35 years of Napa Valley winemaking experience to Oberon, with expertise in sourcing quality fruit from the best vineyards in the valley and understanding the region's uniqueness for growing classic Bordeaux varieties. His long-standing relationships with local growers ensure a consistency in the quality of the grapes grown for Oberon in premiere and emerging Napa Valley sub-appellations. From these vineyards are harvested the perfectly mature clusters that lend the ripest possible fruit character to our wines. With experience and patience, Tony awaits the moment each year that he can taste the peak of ripeness in the grapes - the point at which nature recognizes the same and the birds begin to pluck the berries from the vines. This results in the luscious concentration of our wines. Oberon Hillside Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is luxurious with dark fruit flavors and mature, supple tannins. Oberon Cabernet Sauvignon is velvety with blackberry and cassis flavors. Oberon Merlot is ripe with blueberries and chocolate. Oberon Sauvignon Blanc is crisp, fruity and refreshing.
